What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam.

Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly viewable within your comment.

If you upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

In order to ensure the proper functioning of the site, we sometimes place small data files on your computer, called cookies. Most large sites do the same.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit this site. This way, the site remembers your actions and preferences (such as password, language, font size, and other visual preferences) for a period of time, so you don’t have to enter these preferences every time you visit the site or browse through its pages.

How do we use cookies?

Some of our sites use cookies to remember:
your visual preferences, e.g. brightness or character size if you have already answered a popup survey asking if the content was useful or not (to avoid being asked the same question) whether you have agreed (or not) to use cookies on this site.

Also, some videos embedded on our pages use a cookie to collect anonymous statistics on how you got to that point and which videos you visited.

Enabling these cookies is not necessary for the site to function, but you will have better browsing capabilities. You can delete these cookies, or block access to them, but if you do some features of the site may not work well.

The information related to cookies is not used to identify you personally and we have complete control over the pattern data. Cookies are not used for purposes other than those described herein.

Do we use other cookies?

Some of our websites or sub sites may use additional or different cookies than those mentioned above. In this case, you will find details of cookies on the corresponding information page. You may be asked to agree to the storage of these cookies.

How to control cookies

You can control and / or delete cookies as you wish. You can find details here: aboutcookies.org Select translations from the previous link English. You can delete all cookies already on your computer and configure most browsers to prevent cookies from being installed. However, in this case, you may have to adjust your own preferences each time you visit a site, and some services may not work as well.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (eg videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor visited the other site.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, integrate additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including monitoring your interaction with that embedded content, and if you are logged in, on this site.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically identify and approve follow-up comments, instead of keeping them in a queue.

For users who subscribe to our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in the user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (unless they can change their username). Webmasters can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have in your data

If you have an account on this site or have left a comment, you may request to obtain an exported record of the personal information we hold about you, including any data you provide us. You may also request that we delete the personal information we hold about you. This does not include data that we need to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.

Where we send your data

Guest reviews can be controlled through an automated spam detection service.
