Expected Results

The main outcome of the project will be the development of a complete and documented traceability system for processed agricultural and fishery products with a focus on the consumer, the components of which will be the quality control and product origin control protocols, the distinct steps in implementing the traceability methodology and of its documentation and the CSA to support marketing decisions. The combined application of these components will be supported through an online electronic platform accessible to the consumer and through the application of mobile devices.

On the one hand, providing documented traceability services to the consumer in complete transparency, and on the other, creating a credibility enhancing framework for product authenticity will bring benefits at different levels. Starting from the last point in the supply chain of processed agricultural and fisheries products and going backwards we will mention the expected benefits of implementing the integrated system we will develop. We start from the last point in the chain that is the consumer since the benefit of one part of the supply chain can at the same time be considered as offering a competitive advantage to the immediately preceding part of the chain.
